Okay,
I am back! I have spent the last couple of months working on my
podcast and on publishing a single volume collection
of all nine of the tales. While it is not handbound, it is a handsome
edition available in hardcover or paperback directly from me via
my email or from xlibris.com
The hardcover is $28.95 and the softcover is $17.95 plus $3.00
shipping from me or slightly more from xlibris.
The
podcast is now available! It is a free
16 episode/chapter reading of all 9 Wrightales with a little intro
music by Jeff Neves. If you have an ipod you will know all about
podcasting and how to sign up, but you can get the podcast without
an ipod as long as you have a computer and a "catcher"
that you use to download music. Give it a try at podiobooks.com
I have just discovered Podiobooks.com They distribute
audio books in serialized form to listen to on your ipod. That
is, the listener chooses a book they want to listen to and downloads
chapters to their ipod or computer once a week or so until they
have the complete book in mp3 format. I have tried 2 books so
far The Curious Education of Epitome Quirkstandard by
A. F. Harrold and Heaven season 1 by Mur Lafferty both
are wonderful. The service is free, but users are encouraged to
"donate" if they like the book. 75% of the donations
go to the author. I am seriously considering recording my stories
for broadcast. I will keep you updated.

Finally! A new story ready to go. Picking
Up the Pieces is about hubrus and innocence. A would-be-wizard
sets out to steal the best parts of the best stories and put them
together to create the greatest story of all--literally! He doesn't
know or care about the broken stories and storytellers he leaves
in his wake.
The "Paper Dragon" story came out quite well. The final title is Daddy Cat and the Paper Dragon.
It is the story of two little girls (my nieces) whose home backs up to a crossing over point into the Land of Fairy.
Only children can pass between the two worlds without being physically changed. Unfortunately, their father accidently
crosses over and is changed into a cat. They need to find a way to change him back again before their mother returns
from her trip. The story is so quirky, due to the pre-existing elements my brother had already laid down for his girls,
that I am not certain anyone else would "get" it. If anyone is interested, they can email me.
I am working on one story (working title: Paper Dragon) that is a different kind of challenge for me.
This one is for children, and young children at that! The main characters and the setting have been established by someone
else so I have to create a fresh, age-appropriate story within these parameters. Not as easy as it might seem. After
several false starts I seem to have found my groove. If it works out, I will probably bind an edition in January.
Two other stories are pending. One concerns a lazy wizard who discovers a way to steal pieces of
stories from others. He stitches the pieces together and ends up with a sort of Frankenstein monster. The theft has
some unexpected consequences. And the monster, well . . . I guess we will all have to wait and see what happens.
The other story concerns the effect that each of us has on those around us.
